PASOS, we believe that empowering women is key to building strong peaceful and resilient communities. guided by the UN Women empowerment principles our work ensures that women and girls in Somalia have equal access to education, livelihoods, healthcare, and leadership opportunities. We focus on removing the barriers that limit women’s participation and creating an environment where they can thrive socially, economically and politically.

Our programs strengthen economic empowerment by supporting women led businesses, providing vocational training, and creating market access opportunities. We promote education and skills development by advocating for girls’ education, delivering digital literacy programs and offering leadership training for women aspiring to take on community and political roles.

We prioritize health and wellbeing, improving maternal health services, enhancing nutrition awareness, and ensuring gender-sensitive humanitarian assistance in vulnerable and conflict affected areas. In the area of leadership and participation, we work to increase women representation in governance, peacebuilding and community decision-making structures.

PASOS is also committed to protection and rights, raising awareness on legal protections, addressing gender-based violence and engaging men and boys to promote gender equality and challenge harmful social norms.

Through these efforts we have increased women participation in governance, supported the growth of women-led enterprises, expanded access to education and provided vital protection services to survivors of violence.
