PASOS is dedicated to advancing sustainable development in Somalia by aligning its programs with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through targeted interventions across health, education, gender equality, food security, water, climate, infrastructure, and peacebuilding, PASOS strives to create resilient communities that can thrive economically, socially, and environmentally. Our commitment to the SDGs guides our efforts to leave no one behind and contribute to lasting peace and prosperity in Somalia.

We concentrate our efforts on six key Sustainable Development Goals where we can create the most significant impact through our expertise and regional presence
No Poverty and Zero Hunger
PASOS empowers vulnerable households by providing vocational training, supporting micro-enterprises, and enhancing access to essential resources. Our food security and nutrition programs target malnourished children, pregnant and lactating women, and food-insecure families. We also promote sustainable agriculture by training farmers on climate-smart techniques and distributing drought-resilient seeds to increase productivity and food availability.
Good Health and Well-being
We deliver critical healthcare services through mobile clinics, maternal and child health initiatives, and a network of trained community health volunteers. Our health campaigns focus on immunization, nutrition, maternal care, and disease prevention to improve the wellbeing of even the most remote populations.
Quality Education
PASOS improves access to education by supporting out-of-school children, rehabilitating schools, training teachers, and providing learning materials. Our goal is to strengthen education systems and empower young generations with the knowledge and skills needed for a brighter future.
Gender Equality
We promote women’s leadership and participation in decision-making, implement programs to prevent gender-based violence, provide survivor support services, and raise awareness about women’s rights and empowerment.
Clean Water and Sanitation
Our efforts include rehabilitating water sources, constructing sustainable water management systems, building sanitation facilities, and conducting hygiene promotion campaigns to prevent waterborne diseases and improve community health.
Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
PASOS supports the development of essential rural infrastructure such as water systems, health posts, and agricultural value-chain facilities. We also incorporate innovative solutions like digital health monitoring and remote learning platforms to enhance service delivery and community resilience.
Climate Action
We implement community-based climate adaptation programs, environmental conservation initiatives such as tree planting and rangeland restoration, and disaster risk reduction strategies to help communities prepare for and recover from climate-related shocks.
Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions
PASOS strengthens governance through civic education, conflict resolution, and capacity-building for local authorities. We advocate for human rights, the rule of law, accountability, and inclusive community participation to foster peace and stability.
