Bridging the Education Gap: A School for the Forgotten Children
Last Updated : March 3, 2025
In a remote village on the outskirts of Baidoa, a group of children sat under a tree, eager to learn but with no proper school to attend. For years, education remained out of reach due to poverty and a lack of infrastructure.
PASOS stepped in to change that reality. The organization, in collaboration with local leaders, built a fully equipped primary school and recruited trained teachers to ensure quality education for the children.
The impact was immediate. Enrollment soared as children, especially girls, who had never attended school before, gained access to education. PASOS also provided learning materials, uniforms, and daily school meals, reducing the financial burden on families.
Twelve-year-old Mohamed, once a herder with no formal education, is now among the top-performing students. His dream is to become a doctor—a future that once seemed impossible.
Through PASOS’ education initiatives, entire communities are breaking the cycle of illiteracy, opening doors to a brighter future for the next generation.
