Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Finance Management Officer to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will ensure accuracy in financial transactions, maintain financial records, support budgeting and reporting processes, and ensure compliance with internal policies and donor regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily financial operations, including payments, cash handling, bank reconciliations, and expense tracking.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
- Support the development and monitoring of project and organizational budgets.
- Ensure timely submission of donor financial reports in accordance with funding agreements.
- Monitor expenditures and ensure alignment with approved budgets and donor requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in line with accounting standards and audit requirements.
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Support procurement processes and ensure financial due diligence for all transactions.
- Ensure proper financial controls and procedures are in place and adhered to.
- Provide financial support and training to project and field staff as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in an NGO or donor-funded environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working with donor compliance (e.g., USAID, EU, UN, etc.) is an advantage.
- High attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with multi-currency accounting and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with project-based accounting and cost allocation methods.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines.
