About us

Peace Action Society Organization for Somalia (PASOS) is a professionally managed and committed national Non-Governmental and non-profit-making organization, founded by civil society groups on 1st January 1997 in Mogadishu, Somalia.

The primary focus of PASOS is on the problems of  poor in their struggle to obtain  life of justice and dignity. Environment stabilization, food security, empowerment of the community for self-governance are the most important components of its mission.

Code of conduct

The purpose of establishment for this code of conduct is to become guidance for PASOS staffs for all their operational activities and lines to obey.

  • Personal and professional good conduct
  • Code of Conduct for The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and NGOs in Disaster Relief

PASOS has an established Board of Directors for effective oversight, policy direction as well as ensuring accountability, credibility, sustainability and representation.

The Board currently has seven members with varied professional backgrounds and representing diverse interests such as gender, geographical and special interest group representation.

What we do

PASOS implements numerous activities under livelihood support, emergency relief, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH).Our portfolio of completed projects has increased over the years exceeding US$ 5,000,000.

This is a testimony of good project planning, management and organization. PASOS makes every effort to alleviate poverty and engage lasting positive changes amongst beneficiary communities through various strategies among them; promotion of good governance and democracy, strengthening the capacity of communities and community-based organizations and delivery of emergency relief to disaster stricken group.
